Creating Jumps

What's a video frame jump a.k.a. 'a jump'?

In uShow, you can create a video frame so your friends can jump to and begin viewing from an exact spot in a video - we call this a video frame jump, or for short, a jump.

How do I create a jump?

While viewing any video in uShow, click on the video screen when you arrive at the video frame you want your friends to jump to. The video will pause and a box will appear on the screen for you to add a brief note about why this jump is interesting.

Can I tag a friend in a jump?

You can select any uShow, Twitter, or Facebook friend to be the subject of the brief note in your video frame jump. Begin the note by typing the name of any friend or person you follow in uShow, Twitter, or Facebook and a list will instantly display the friend. Once you select the name, complete the rest of your note and click Post. Your friend and all his/her watchers will receive the jump.

My Facebook friends are not appearing in the tagger list.

You must first 'Connect with Facebook' in order to access your Facebook friends in the tagger list. To connect, click 'Connect with Facebook' in the home page or profile page sidebar. If you sign into uShow with Facebook then you are automatically connected to Facebook when you login.

My Twitter friends are not appearing in the tagger list.

You must first 'Connect with Twitter' in order to access the people you follow in Twitter in the tagger list. To connect, click 'Connect with Twitter' in the home page or profile page sidebar.

Can I post the jumps I create in uShow to Facebook?

Yes. You can post the jumps you create in uShow to Facebook as long as you are 'Connected with Facebook'. To connect, click the blue 'Connect with Facebook' button on the home page sidebar. If you sign into uShow with Facebook then you are automatically connected to Facebook when you login.

To connect, click the green 'Connect with Twitter' button on the home page sidebar. If you sign into uShow with Twitter then you are automatically connected to Twitter when you login.

Can I edit a jump once I post it?

Nope. Once it's out there, you can't edit it. You can delete any update by clicking the Options / Remove link on the right end of the update, but you can't make changes.

Making Comments

Can I comment on jumps?

Yes. You can post comments about a jump. If the jump already has comments posted, then you can add your comment in the input field. If the jump does not have comments yet, then you can add your comment by clicking the comment link.

Why can't I comment on videos?

With uShow you can do better than comment on a video -- uShow has created the ability for you to add your opinion inside of a video at the exact frame you want your viewers to jump to. We call these video frame jumps, or for short, jumps. To create a jump, just click the video while it's playing.

Making Retweets

What does RT, or retweet, mean?

RT is short for retweet, and indicates a re-posting of someone else's tweet. This isn't an official Twitter command or feature, but people add RT somewhere in a tweet to indicate that part of their tweet includes something they're re-posting from another person's tweet.

Can I retweet videos and jumps in uShow?

Yes. You can retweet any video or jump that you see, except your own videos and jumps. Just click the retweet link and the retweet will post in both uShow and Twitter.
